Who you are agreeing with

Leora is operated by Maruf Rahman Tangin, an individual based in Ajman, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us", "Leora"). By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Leora.

The most important thing

Leora is a record-keeping tool, not an accountant. It is not accounting, tax, or financial advice, and it does not file anything on your behalf. The figures it shows are only as accurate as what was recorded in it — and some of what is recorded is produced by speech recognition and a language model, both of which can be wrong.

That is why every value Leora produces is shown to you and can be corrected before it becomes a record. Checking it is your job, and the numbers are your responsibility. Do not file a tax return from a Leora export without reading it. The full position is set out in the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Your account

You need an account to use Leora. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person — you can keep as many separate books inside it as you like.

You must be at least 16, and using Leora must be lawful where you are. If you use Leora for a business, you confirm you are authorised to record that business's financial information.

Your data belongs to you

Your businesses, transactions and transcripts are yours. We do not claim ownership of them, we do not sell them, and we do not use your financial records to train models.

You can export everything as CSV at any time, and you can delete everything permanently, both from inside the app. What we store and for how long is set out in the privacy policy.

What belongs to us

The Leora name, the app, this website and their design remain ours. These terms let you use the service; they do not transfer it to you.

Recording other people

Leora records your voice, and you may name customers and suppliers in what you say. You are responsible for what you record about other people. Recording a conversation without the knowledge of those taking part may be unlawful where you are; that is your call to make and your risk to carry, not ours.

What you agree not to do

• Use Leora to break the law, or to record someone else's data without their knowledge.
• Try to reach other users' records, or probe the service for weaknesses without asking us first — see the security page for how to report something properly.
• Automate the service in a way that costs us disproportionately — there are rate limits, and working around them is not on.
• Resell Leora or pass it off as your own.

Availability

Leora is offered as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law will not let us exclude. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and speech recognition will sometimes get a word wrong. Your recordings are stored on your own device until they sync, so an outage delays your records rather than losing them.

Leora depends on third-party providers for transcription, hosting and sign-in. If one of them fails, parts of Leora will fail with it.

If something goes wrong

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost profits, lost business, penalties, or losses arising from figures you did not check before relying on them.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or AED 100. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Leora and delete your account whenever you like, without asking. We may suspend or end an account that is being used in the ways listed above, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents us. If we end your account without cause, you may export your data first.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us will be heard by the courts of Ajman, United Arab Emirates.

If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be set aside by agreement, this clause does not take those rights away from you.

Changes

If these terms change materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the version you are reading. Continuing to use Leora after a change means you accept it; if you do not, delete your account.
