What happens when you speak

When you record, the audio is saved on your phone first — before anything is sent anywhere. That is what lets you record with no signal and have it sync later.

The recording is then sent to our own server, which passes it to Groq for transcription and to Anthropic to turn the sentence into a transaction. Neither of those companies receives your name, your email, or your account.

How long we keep the audio

The audio file stays on your phone until it has synced, and is deleted automatically within a few days after that.

We do not keep a copy of the audio on our servers. Once it has been transcribed, the recording itself is gone.

What we do keep

We keep the text of what you said, and the transaction we made from it, in our database.

We keep it for two reasons: so you can see where a number came from, and so we can tell when our transcription got something wrong and improve it.

When you correct a transaction we made, we record the correction. That is the single most useful signal we have for making Leora more accurate.

We also keep the accounts you've set up — their names, types, and currencies — along with the categories you use to organize transactions.

Who can see it

Your records are locked to your account at the database level, not just in the app. Another Leora user cannot read your data even if they try to request it directly.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Where your data goes

Worth saying plainly, since it is the question people ask second: your recordings and records are processed outside the UAE, on infrastructure run by the companies that do the transcription and hosting. The privacy policy names every one of them.

Editing or deleting an entry

Tap any entry in the app to open it, where you can edit or delete it. In the ledger, you can also select several entries at once to delete them together.

Edits and deletions happen immediately and can't be undone — the same as deleting your account, just smaller in scope.

Taking it with you, or removing it

You can export everything as a CSV at any time, from Settings → Export your data.

You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account. That removes every account, transaction, and transcript we hold. It is immediate and it is permanent — we cannot restore it afterwards.
